Enrico Bonito studies Innovation and Industrial Management at the University of Gothenburg through the double degree programme. He studied his first year of the Master’s at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and will receive a degree from both universities.

Why did you choose to study a double degree?
- I wanted to do an international experience and I wanted to go abroad from Rome, and I also applied for Erasmus but I think that double degree is a different experience because you stay one year abroad, and you have a degree from the university abroad. It is a more complete programme. A more challenging programme, so that’s why I chose it.

How do the universities differ?
- The university here and the Italian one are completely different. Both the programmes and the lessons are different. We are more in the class in Italy, we have three months of full lessons, mostly every day, and then in December and January we have all the exams. While here you have one month and then exams and after that one month and another exam. So I think it is different the way they teach the subjects. I cannot compare the quality of the learning but both are good universities.

What would you say is the best thing about Gothenburg?
- The fact that it is not that big, and you can go everywhere with public transport. You don’t have to stress like in big cities, for example like Rome, where you might have to spend an hour on trams and buses going from one side of the city to the other. Here everything works. And also it is a beautiful city, and it is full of parks surrounded by lakes and so. A good place!

Do you have any recommendations for international students thinking about coming here?
- I recommend to enjoy the experience, to try different things that Sweden can offer, and to travel around in the Scandinavian countries because there are a lot of beautiful places to see.
